UP House is temporarily closed
La Maison UP est temporairement fermée

Donald Berman UP House is temporarily closed. The building in which UP House is located has recently been sold. Consequently we are looking for another location in the same area that will fit our needs and our budget.

We encourage you to stay in touch with us by email while we are closed, as our current email address will remain active.  Our current phone number will remain active for messages. We will also update our website once we have more information.

Hilton Humanitarian Prize for 2014.

We are very proud to announce that Fountain House and Clubhouse International have recently been awarded the Hilton Humanitarian Prize for 2014. This award was established in 1996 by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation in recognition of Conrad N Hilton’s lifetime of international humanitarian effort.. “The Prize is awarded not to an individual, but to an organization – to recognize its extraordinary humanitarian contributions and to highlight the need for greater humanitarian aid in the world.” website – Conrad N Hilton Foundation).

This Prize has previously been awarded to such organizations as Doctors Without Borders, International Rescue Committee and SOS. The fact that this is the first time that this Prize has been awarded to a mental health organization brings a level of recognition to the importance of mental illness and the impact that the clubhouse model is having in the field of mental health. This Prize is a tribute to everyone connected with the clubhouse movement – clubhouse members, staff, Boards, volunteers and supporters.
